Obedience is not the mark of a slave?it is an important quality in leadership. The great leaders of this world have not been their own masters; they arose and followed someone higher up, and thereby became the greater. Obedience is a gateway to power. Our physical health depends upon obeying the laws of our physical nature. Strength of character issues from obedience to the decree of conscience. If we are to have a commanding hold on life, we must be subject to a will higher than our own.
