As an old man walked along the beach at
dawn, he noticed a young man picking up starfish and placing them back
into the ocean. He asked the young man what he was doing. The boy answered, "The stranded starfish will die if left until the morning sun." The old man answered, "The beach goes on for miles and there are millions of starfish. How can your effort make any difference?"
