IF-IT-IS-NOT-WORKING EVALUATION: 1. How nervous are you? Little 1 2 3 4 5 Alot 2. Are you practicing enough? Y N SUGGESSTIONS: Use more one-liners until you start getting stronger laughs. Use the tutorials and humor workshops. Practice the anecdotes in front of another pastor or mentor. Ask for feedback. Use the evaluation tools. Do not just read the anecdote. It does not communicate well. Be semi-extemporaneous. Practice the anecdote in the place where you will be given the sermon. The punch line is extremely important. Be animated when delivery this line. It also helps to have the punch line memorized. Do not be afraid to mark up your text. Have the complete anecdote written out when delivery it along with your lead-in and lead-out transitions. Use relaxation techniques if you have been nervous when delivering the anecdotes. Practice. Practice. Practice. Realize that the comedy professionals practice a lot. Realize that you can get quality laughs. Understand that even the comedy professionals even bomb. Being a great humorous pastor will take effort. If you follow these suggestions, you will be one faster than you can think. Stay motivated.
