The Prophet Samuel says, "Speak, Lord, your servant is listening." Samuel does not pray for some overwhelming sign or experience of God's presence. He simply asks for directions. God is speaking today. Through the Scriptures, through the preaching of the Gospel, through the cries of our brothers and sisters in need. The question is, Are we listening? "Speak, Lord, your servant is listening." And, if we are His servants, we are listening without having decided in advance what the Lord has to tell us.
