Lying In New Hampshire this week, a businessman was convicted of faking his disappearance from a car crash two years ago to help draw attention to his long-shot congressional campaign. Gary Dodds was convicted of falsifying evidence, causing a false public alarm and leaving the scene of a crash. Dodds claimed he injured his head and nearly drowned in a river before being rescued 27 hours later from the snowy woods. Prosecutors say he spent part of that time soaking his feet in cold water to make it appear he spent the night outdoors. It sounds like he would be a very good politician, but next time just advertise on some billboards. Senator Barack Obama said this week that he doesn't think it's a big deal that he borrowed lines from a friend, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, although he probably should have given him credit. Patrick said during his gubernatorial campaign a year and a half ago that words matter, like "I have a dream" and "all men are created equal."... "I have a dream?" "All men are created equal?" I think Deval may have a little plagiarism on his record, too. Winning Barack Obama won two more states, which makes ten in a row. Even the Las Vegas bookies are amazed. Hillary says Barack Obama is all about words, not action. That is accurate; he says the words and his followers take action. Losing A study has found that people may be more easily persuaded to change their opinion after consuming caffeine. Researchers in Australia found undistracted college students were more persuaded by arguments made after they drank a caffeine-laced drink. When the Clinton Campaign heard this they started to give out cases of Red Bull. Fear The FDA is recalling 143 million pounds of meat. After seeing the video of the sick cows, I have decided to end my Adkins Diet and to eat only fruits and vegetables. Cost Oil futures shot higher this week, closing above $100 for the first time as investors bet that crude prices will keep climbing despite evidence of plentiful supplies and falling demand. I would invest some money in oil futures but I am putting all my extra money into my tank. In the United Arab Emirates last weekend, a license plate with nothing but the number "1" on it went for a record $14 million at a charity auction. Saeed Khouri explained, "I bought it because it's the best number. I bought it because I want to be the best in the world. I am glad to see the excess oil revenue going toward a good cause. Permission Tom Scholz, founder of the band Boston, wants Mike Huckabee to stop using his 1970s hit song "More Than a Feeling" without his permission. A former member of the band, Barry Goudreau, has appeared with Huckabee at campaign events, and they have played the song with Huckabee's band, Capitol Offense. I am wondering does calling his band "Capitol Offense" help him get any of the liberal vote?
