The newspaper editor in a fairly large town said that too often he feels that his time is too precious to have people come in to talk to him about their gripes. Therefore, he instructed his secretary to tell all who came and asked to see the editor that he was in conference at that moment. One day a woman came in to see the editor and received the same brush-off. As she left, she said to the secretary that she just wanted to thank Mr. Editor for the excellent editorial he had written the day before. This was something new, and the secretary thought that she might be able to contact the editor. He came out and talked more than 15 minutes to the woman who had taken time out to say "thank you."
