On one of San Francisco's streets there was a store-front funeral parlor with some beige-colored curtains covering the windows. In front of the curtains there was a sign which read, "Why walk around half dead when we can bury you for ninety-eight dollars." That was a sharp piece of advertising because a lot of people these days are ready to take them up on the offer. But there is a better way to ask the question. And every one of the Biblical writers, each in his own way, asks the very same question: "Why do you walk around half dead when there is a way of replenishing your strength?" You see, a part of the Good News of the Bible is that the God who created us didn't just create us and then let us be. The God who created us always gives us the Grace to do what must be done. Always and without exception! The biblical writers were aware of this and they rejoiced in it. Quote this article on your site | Views: 319 | Print | E-mail
