We are so often tempted to follow Elijah's example. How often don't we lament to one another that the world is getting worse, so what's the use? Many Christians have made their faith a matter of private concern and refused to speak out on important issues. They have turned their churches into Elijah's cave ? a place of refuge to hide from the terrible conditions outside and to pity themselves because no one seems to listen anymore. Pierre Berton in "The Comfortable Pew" hit the nail on the head when he observed that Christians no longer want "comfort" in the Biblical sense of strength to go on. Rather they want "comfort" in the sense of making themselves comfortable while the world struggles alone. Quote this article on your site | Views: 415 | Print | E-mail
