Worthy Words
On Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton gave a speech supporting Barack Obama. She entitled the speech, "Forget All Those Things I Said During the Primaries."

Leaders
Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden has said goodbye to his friends at the Amtrak station where he commuted daily from Delaware to his job in the US Senate to Washington for the past three decades. Well at least, he isn't like the rest of the US Senators traveling to DC in gas guzzling limos.

Love
NFL Hall of Famer Gene Upshaw, who following his playing career spent the last quarter-century as head of the player's union helping get pro football players become rich through free agency, died last week at the age of 63. The players truly loved Gene while the owners.. .not so much.

Suffering
The sheriff of Lake County, Illinois is behind bars this week — voluntarily. Sheriff Mark Curran says he hopes to talk to inmates and see prison life from their perspective. Why would someone want to subject himself to prison.  I bet it is just a scheme to get away from his wife.

Temptation
Middle school students in Washington, DC, who behave can get $100 a month. DC Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee has announced plans to boost achievement at half the city's middle schools by offering students cash. Teenagers do have a lot of temptations today - but do we want to teach them that bribery is OK.

Humble
Photos of John Mayer aren't worth what they used to be since he and Jennifer Aniston have broken up. According to a paparazzi, "Pictures of him and Jen were selling for $20,000 at one point. A picture of him alone gets $200 now." But on the other hand the pictures of us aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

Cheap
The price of gas nationally has dropped 15 cents in two weeks with regular now retailing for an average of $3.70 per gallon. How about that - gas is cheap again.

Problem
Hillary Clinton at the Democratic Convention gave a big speech completely and totally supporting Barack Obama. The problem is that most of her delegates aren't.

Anger
A member of Cuba's Olympic Tae Kwon Do squad didn't like a call that went against him, so he kicked the referee in the face. Angel Matos has since been banned form Olympic competition for life. They also should have signed him up for Anger Management.

Change
As you know Joe Biden is Barrack Obama's running mate. I think it is a wise choice because nothing says change like a guy who's been in the Senate for 35 Years.

Overcome
An Italian priest says he's organizing a beauty contest for nuns. Father Antomnio Rungi says his "Miss Sister 2008" will show that nuns aren't all old and dour. Rungi adds, "We are not going to parade nuns in bathing suits, but being ugly is not a requirement for becoming a nun. External beauty is a gift from God, and we mustn't hide it." To
overcome societal stigmas is always a worthy endeavor, but do think that this is a good idea?
