Harold and Alice, a married
couple, seem to complement one another perfectly. For example, Alice is very adept mechanically and with a paint brush: the designated household repair person. If something breaks, she is the one who fixes it. If a room needs a paint job or some new wallpaper, she is the one who does the job. On the other hand, Harold has absolutely no mechanical ability. Everything he touches seems to fall apart. And with a paint brush in his hand he is an absolute household menace. One day, Alice was showing a new neighbor through the house, with three-year-old Harold Junior trailing behind. "I papered this room myself," she said. "And I refinished that chair and antiqued that dresser," she added. The neighbor was impressed. "Oh, you can do so many things," she exclaimed. Whereupon, Harold Junior, apparently feeling a little sorry for his father, pointed to the ceiling and said proudly, "And my daddy put in that light bulb!"
