The story is told of a
desert-dweller who one night lit a candle in his tent. Then he reached into a bowl and got out a fig. He opened the fig and saw that there were worms inside. And so he threw it away. Then he took a second fig, opened it, and saw worms inside. And he threw that one away. Whereupon, he blew out the candle, and in the darkness took a third fig - and ate it.
